It’s really funny because I mentioned Dragon’s Lair in my email to Sadie after the post hit where I explained the fine line between a game fully based around QTEs (quick time events) and a game like Shenmue which interjected them sparingly as a way to make you pay attention to the cinematics and not fall asleep. That being said I did just look up some Indigo Prophecy gameplay and it’s an adventure game with QTEs for “action”. I think the highlights of this game will play like Dragon’s Lair but replace cartoon animation with HD graphics, doubtful that the adventure sequences will interest me at all since they are likely too scripted.
maybe you should re-read your email, I’m looking at it right now…
“Shenmue did it well in that it was quick stuff that kept
you on your toes during normal conversations and dialog but didn’t do
enough of it to devolve into an old-school action game such as
dragon’s lair or brain dead 13.”
Looks like a quick-time events based survival horror game, I need to see more to really be sold on it.
my balls are swelling.
So it’s like dragon’s lair.
